Construction at Drexel Square continues
Since construction started in fall 2017, Drexel Square, a 1.3-acre public green space in front of the Bulletin Building, along with a more than 12,000 SF elliptical green lawn serving as the gateway into University City from Center City and 30th Street Station, is starting to get shape. Drexel Square is 'a linchpin' of the master plan project which was launched in 2016 to transform Philadelphia’s innovative neighborhood, namely the Schuykill Yards.
Designed by SHoP and West 8, together with Drexel University and master developer Brandywine Realty Trust, the general intent of the masterplan design is to create a livable neighborhood that will attract an educated work force, one that increasingly demands walkable access to offices, shops and homes in a dense urban environment. Construction at Drexel Square will continue until mid next year.
