Nieuw Crooswijk
2008 ongoing, Rotterdam, The Netherlands

To improve the building blocks, infrastructure and public space of the Rotterdam neighborhood of Nieuw-Crooswijk West 8 have created a new urban masterplan.

The existing urban structure will be maintained to provide an integrated urban form. The classical avenues, with solid planting and wide sidewalks, will carry the design, connecting the neighborhood with its surroundings. The secondary streets will be repositioned to create space for gardens and allow larger parcels of land to be populated by more extensive dwellings.

Parking will take place within the building blocks. The view of the street will be created with trees, water and public squares, creating a rich and vibrant streetscape.
